Episode #70. Is your self-care really taking care of your ‘self’? In honor of Mental Health Awareness Week, I’ve invited licensed mental health counselor, Maryellen Dance, to educate us on this important topic. And let me tell you, Maryellen is calling out all the stereotypes of therapy you might have believed and dishing on real-life ways to take care of your mental health.

In this episode, you’ll learn how to uplevel your self-care to truly care for yourself, how to know when you need professional help and the mental check-in that will make all the difference in your wellbeing.

In This Episode You’ll Learn:

  • Why it’s so important for entrepreneurs to take note of their mental health
  • What mental health really means – it’s more than just depression and anxiety!
  • How to define self-care from a mental health point of view and what to do about it
  • The difference between a bad day/bad month and dealing with depression
  • How to build self-awareness around emotions and begin to deal with those feelings
  • The big signs that you might need to seek professional help
  • What you can do to be supportive when those around you are struggling

There is a different definition of being mentally healthy for everyone. It's feeling good, having a positive outlook on yourself and your life. That varies from person to person.
